When Nvidia released the GT 430 reference design in the last quarter of 2010, experts from the material around the world was surprised by the potential of the card. There was a video card bitstreaming, stuffed with electronic muscle, with a small footprint of respectable power. In short, it was the perfect HTPC video card. The only problem was that the supply of Nvidia was a little slow on the market, and after a barrage of price cuts on products ATI comparable, the initial price level of the GT 430 was a little high for this you were going.

Flash forward to today and the price of the 430 GT cards is falling … down … decline. As they move further from the $ 100 mark and closer to the $ 50 mark, the cards have shaped up into one heck of a nice deal. I love mine. In fact, I would marry mine if I lived in the state somehow allowed. We live in a log cabin together and sell crafts to tourists. Just me and the GT 430 against the world. No worries, no regrets. I. .. I love you, GT 430. Let’s never fight.

PROS:

– He mocks your videos in HD 1080p. Laugh at them, pushes them down, and takes their money. The card has enough power to play a kind of crazy, video stream 5000P undiscovered, much less whatever 1080p weak kung fu you wish to discard. Your media center will be future proof for some time. I put this card into a motherboard 780G-based with onboard ATI HD 3200 – considered some of the best graphics available on board just a few years ago – and the GT 430 simply destroyed. Of course, the discrete graphics solutions are generally going to be faster than the onboard video is well known, but the difference was night and day. You want to play a movie in 1080p Windows 7 Media Center while you page through other film offerings MediaBrowser? The menus are smooth as butter. Want to watch HD television with the program guide superimposed on the TV streams without slowing down graphics? Yeah, no problem. The card offers.

– quieter than you might think. Active cooling on the card first concerned me the decibels could be put, but now that the card is installed, the fan on the EVGA part is silent. I can not hear over the noise of my hard drives.

– good enough for small game, if that’s your thing. People who compare this model with Fermi budget graphics cards for gamers almost miss the point of a similar card. It is intended to be sandwiched in a tiny HTPC case, where it can grow some decent graphics horsepower with a digital output without using a lot of electricity without generating much heat. If you need a giant, full-size PCI-E, which has one square foot of space in your computer case so you can get 200 fps and own noobs in Call of Duty 11: Duty Harder, or something, then look elsewhere. This card is not for you. Also, is your mother calling you. Dinner is ready. But if you need to play of light and tend to play older games such as World of Warcraft, then the 430 GT has you covered. I’m 1920 x 1080 resolution with the settings in more detail with no slowdown. Life is beautiful.

– Made by EVGA. For the uninitiated, the thought is generally implemented as a single company with a Nvidia reference design is similar if not exactly the same as another company, so you do not really know what name appears on the card, just buy cheaper whatever the. But believe me, the company is important. EVGA is one of the most established of the video card out there at that time, and my own experience with them in the past, they fought their products in case of problems and are quick to meet their repayments. In fact, I offered a discount with the card itself, and after completing the information on their website, the company intends to accelerate the repayment of a nominal amount ($ 2) fee, if you get your money in a week or two instead of half a year. How great is that?

– Nvidia driver support. You download a file from nvidia.com driver and nothing else. Installation is automatic and painless, and drivers support a wide range of Nvidia. There is no drama. Compare and contrast with the infamous ATI driver support for the poor, where the company will often slyly disable features on older cards that work very well with older drivers, or inadvertently introduce or reintroduce the same bug serious enough to crash your computer . My subjective opinion is that their driver support has matured and gotten a little better, but it is simply wrong. Each time ATI releases a new set of Catalyst drivers, it’s like a war crime. As someone with a drawer full of junk from a decade of ill-supported TV tuners and ATI graphics cards, it certainly has been a puzzle that I wanted to avoid this time. If you’re tired of all the nonsense and get the 5xxx series ATI cards of the table as a viable option for … Learn more

I used this nice, small but powerful video / graphics card for one week only. It works fine with my old and not as powerful Dell computer.

eVGA GeForce GT 430 works very well with the CRPG games I play. Examples of these games are medieval series, Oblivion, The Witcher, etc. I have not tried it on one of the new games that require end video cards.

You might wonder why I wrote, “but beware.” I’ll explain.

– Nvidia’s site clearly show the card needs at least 300 watts to operate properly (recommended).

– However, none of the sites I visited (Nvidia included) looking for information and / or comments about this video card you have offered what I consider an essential element of the card information.

– When I received the card, and before I opened the box, I decided to read all the information bits to make sure my computer and card are compatible.

– Yes, I found the piece of information, none of the sites I looked at included.

– The eVGA GeForce GT 430 needs at least 22 amps per rail of 12 volts.

– I was lucky, because after opening my computer, looking at the information on the source, and surf the net for the formulas to find the amp for my computer, I ‘I found that my computer has produced exactly or 22 amps for 12 volt rail.

Summary: Very nice, small but powerful card. This is not the high end since the authority is involved, but good enough for players who have a common non-computer-game.

PS – Thanks to Amazon for allowing me to return the card before I ordered it (eVGA GeForce GTS 450). customer support Great!

I ordered this card for my PC to make up for Vista Media Center and the Aero interface. It exceeded my expectations. She has my ranking video at 3.0 to make my computer a respectable gaming system, even with a single core processor. He also brought my rating to a 2.6 Aero making it respectable for high-end applications, I will never use. HiDef video plays perfectly. I am a very happy customer.

My Dell computer (which I bought in 2003) started having issues. Specifically, there were green lines across the monitor which makes it impossible to go online or use the computer for that matter. I brought it to Geek Squad at Best Buy and I took out the video card and told me it was exhausted and needed replacement. I am not a computer person, but I asked him to show me how to replace the card (it was very easy). I ordered this video card from Amazon b / c it is economical (cheap). I use my computer to check email, surf the Net, downloading pictures, etc. .. nothing too fancy. I do not play video games that apparently needs a lot more expensive video card. Anyway, I put the card in, turned on the computer and voila … like new. All for $ 45! I was ready to spend $ 2000 on a new computer so needless to say I was very happy that this patch has given us cheap online. The image is better than new because the technology has come a long way since 2003. I hope this information is useful to someone out there like me have a similar problem. Good Luck!

I bought this card instead of 128MB card that was beginning to buzz and humm. The new card worked without any problems, but the thing that surprised me is that it significantly accelerated other applications that I run constantly. The control panel it is also very nice.
