I have a MB88 P-003 has the same problem. The trick dryer did not work for me. Do you know if I can remove the smart card and replace it with one. Theres a similar chip on ebay in mint condition but I do not know how to install it. I miss having my laptop: (

I wrote a few weeks ago a message where I said that it worked for my Acer Aspire .. However, this is a temporary means to solve the problem. The only problem is the chip that must be heated before turning on the laptop .. swiched after the operation of the computer! Thank you so much man! This helped to fix my computer! I have an Acer Aspire 7520 with Nvidia GeForce 8600M GS, and I do the same thing as you, but I headed off to the components completely. Just screw on the plastic thing and heated the 3D map for a few minutes. After the operation, the computer worked! THANK YOU!

@ ShotgunmasterQL Yes I speak for the desktop model of the 9800GT. I use this card for 2 years in fashion with the NV8300 Hybrid SLI board, so I turn it on when I play, no use heavy etcSi you ask me, this card is very good with great performance and I know that many “happy” users, so I can not say that the entire 9800 series is problematic, but I found many videos about people having the same problem as mine. Anyway, hair dryer and new thermal grease works well for me:)
