class=”h3color tiny”> This review is from: Sapphire Radeon HD 6850 1 GB GDDR5 VGA / DL-DVI-I / SL-DVI-D / HDMI / Display Port PCI-Express Video Card 100315L (Electronics) Not much to say people do not know already on how it is quiet (can not hear it on my case fans at idle, and can barely hear it over my case fans dependent) and overclocks (950 + / 1200 + for my card ), is cool (37C idle, 67C load, and with the overclocking!) and powerful (roughly equal to a GTX460-1GB). I use 3-track Eyefinity all the time to productivity, and it’s a huge bonus not having to use multiple cards to do so.
One thing people might not know if this card is essentially equal to the ASUS DirectCU. They are almost the same in terms of noise and temperature of the GPU, despite the direct-Cu thing which is apparently exaggerated. Look reviewers who measure these things, and ASUS and Sapphire card will arrive within 2 degrees C and the other two decibels too.
Why?
Well, if you look at the reviews online, where they remove the shroud covering the cards, you can see that the heat sink and fan are basically the same between them. Both have copper pipes of the same size aluminum radiators and hot weather.
Yes, the ASUS was the copper heat pipes physically touch the GPU (hence the name DirectCU as “Cu” means “copper”), but this does not lower the temperature by this much more compared to the Sapphire, which uses a conventional (aluminum? nickel?) plate that touches the GPU, then transfers heat to the copper heatpipes.
The only other difference is that ASUS shroud is smaller, then shroud of Sapphire is great and to direct the airflow outside the case, rather than turbulence of the hot air back into your case.
this last reason why I chose the Sapphire card: it is essentially the same as the ASUS but he leads the hot air out of the case better. And it was $ 7 less than the ASUS at the time I bought, which was a bonus.

Runs cool and the ability to support up to three monitors with one card is amazing. Also, unlike the GTX 460, requires only one 6-pin power. Not too noisy either. Some games can run at ultra modern 55-60fps. Recommend it to anyone looking to buy quickly.
